Paul Hewitt | Vice President and General Manager
Paul Hewitt joined Kerry as a Snack Seasoning Developer in RD&A based in the UK in 1991. He has worked extensively overseas with a specific focus on developing markets.
Paul’s roles have included: RD&A Director of Kerry Brazil ; Commercial Director of Kerry South America; Commercial Director SEA, General Manager of Speciality Ingredients and RD&A Director in Kerry APAC; General Manager of Kerry Philippines; and his current position as VP & General Manager Sub -Saharan Africa.
Paul’s extensive overseas experience has given him strong insights into the consumers of developing markets and how developing markets operate, this is key to the business a we grow and invest in Africa.
Paul is motivated by the developing markets in Africa and is consistently seeking new ways to make it easier and more valuable for customers to do business with Kerry.
He sees tremendous potential in the African region and has a positive outlook for Kerry’s future in this market.
Craig Broadfoot joined Kerry in 2013 via the Orley Foods acquisition. He has held many senior roles in the past 25 years in Foodservices, including a position in a global organization where he has been instrumental in both the launching of global Foodservices brands in South Africa, and the development of an Ice Cream Foodservice business model for emerging markets.
Craig’s qualifications encompass the Hospitality Industry Hotel Management at leading five-star establishments; as well as Business Development courses at Stellenbosch University.
Craig is an industry expert equipped with years of experience in ensuring customer satisfaction. He prides himself on developing strong, long-lasting relationships with his customers through his vast knowledge of the food services sector. Craig’s passion for the industry is what drives him to always go above and beyond to meet his customer’s expectations”.
Michael Pearson joined Kerry in 2012 and was promoted to the role of Finance Director for Sub-Saharan Africa in 2018. Starting as part of the Financial Control team for Sub-Saharan Africa, he quickly rose to become Commercial Finance Controller before progressing to his current role.
Michael is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, having completed his training at Deloitte. Prior to Kerry, Michael spent many years working abroad in both America and the UK. His knowledge of the overseas market has made him an essential part of the food and beverage industry.
Patrick Mason joined Kerry in 2004 in Supply Chain Operations (based in Melbourne, Australia) and is now Supply Chain Director of our Sub-Saharan Africa division.
Patrick obtained his Bachelor of Business in Global Logistics early in his career, which has enabled him to work abroad in both Malaysia and Singapore. Now based in South Africa, his responsibilities in the Sub -Saharan Africa division include: End to End Supply Chain operation (covering Sales & Operations planning); Demand Forecasting; Supply Planning; Material Planning; New Product Launch/Commercialisation; Inventory Management; Customer Care; Warehousing and Logistics; and overall Supply Chain oversight.
Clive Jardine joined in January 2017 and moved into supporting MENAT in October of that year supporting the acquisition of AATCO. Clive holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Industrial Psychology.
As Kerry expands further into Africa, Clive’s 20 years’ experience in managing change, building a performance culture and developing talent will be integral to our sustainable growth.
Corne van Rooyen joined Kerry in 2013. He is currently the Director of Research Development & Application. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Project Management, with studies in Food Technology at the Cape University of Technology.
Corne’s many years of experience in the food and beverage industry include holding numerous senior roles at Orley Foods since 2000. His specific R&D skill set, his knowledge of the industry and his leadership are invaluable to Kerry.
Martin Dovey joined Kerry in 2011 with the acquisition of FlavourCraft, a Durban based savoury flavours and seasonings business. He graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2004 with a PhD in organic chemistry, and joined FlavourCraft thereafter to take up a position in flavour analysis and design.
In 2009 he was promoted to Technical Manager, responsible for R&D, process optimization and quality, a role which has stood him in good stead for his career in the food and beverage industry. Within Kerry, Martin has filled roles in RD&A and has been a part of the Global Innovation Team for Savoury Taste.
In 2017 he took up a position in Business Development, focusing on dairy and beverage EUMs and was promoted to Business Development Director in 2019 with an overall responsibility for that function in Sub Saharan Africa.
Martin is passionate about the science and technology behind developing products in the food and beverage industry.
His optimism towards the industry and constant zest for innovation are what gives Kerry a competitive edge.
Kem Lynch joined Kerry in 2000 through an acquisition, that was supplying to Kerry Ingredients and Foods both in Ireland and the UK. He is currently Operations Director for our Sub-Saharan Africa division. Kem has over 40 years' experience in the manufacturing industry (specifically dry blending and rusk manufacturing) and has held a number of senior leadership positions across Europe and South Africa.
Kem has held many senior positions at a variety of site locations in Ireland, The UK, Poland, Durban, and Cape Town and more recently in Randburg Johannesburg. His responsibilities at these sites included: Health & Safety; Quality; Engineering; and Operations. Kem’s experience and in depth knowledge in manufacturing has been pivotal to the success of Kerry’s manufacturing operations.
With over 40 years’ experience in manufacturing, Kem’s passion has always been meeting the highest quality standards possible.
He thrives on motivating employees by reinforcing a culture that places emphasis on applying sustainable practices within operations.
Riccardo Petronio joined Kerry in 2015 as Plant Manager New Germany. His qualifications include: an MBA from NMMU; a BSc Degree (Chemistry); and a National Diploma in Food Technology. Riccardo has held many senior positions within the South African Food and Pharmaceutical industry.
These roles have equipped him and enabled him to build a wealth of knowledge and experience in both technical and manufacturing roles in the Sub Saharan context.
Oluyemi Oloyede joined Kerry in 2018 as Country Manager of Kerry West Africa. Oluyemi’s previous experience includes holding a senior roles at a global organization, where he contributed to the successful integration of global brands.
Oluyemi’s wealth of knowledge in the West African distributor operations has enabled him to seamlessly pursue business relationships with our African clients.
Believes that you should always look at everything through the lens of the customer to understand their needs.
Oluyemi’s region is close to his heart and can be seen through his customer engagement.
Regis Manyange | Country Manager East Africa
Regis Manyange joined Kerry in 2013 through the acquisition of Orley foods. His qualifications include an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Bachelor of Commerce Hons. from the National University of Science and Technology (in Zimbabwe). He is currently completing a BSc. Chemistry and Statistics degree at the University of South Africa.
In 2017, Regis took up the opportunity to set up Kerry East Africa and was appointed as Country Manager of this new branch. Since then, he has successfully grown Kerry’s technologies in the region and has established the Kerry reputation for being the leader in the taste and nutrition.
Regis’ entrepreneurial spirit lead to him setting up the very first Kerry branch in East Africa. He has since grown Kerry technologies in the region and established the Kerry reputation for being leaders in the food services industry.
Robin Oort joined Kerry in 2005 bringing 15 years of commercial experience in Africa and The Caribbean to the developing markets team.
Prior to his current role Robin led the sales teams marketing all Kerry technologies in North Africa whilst acting as technology lead for emulsifiers and texture systems and end use market lead for bakery and brewing for the wider MENAT region.
As Sales Director for all Sub Saharan countries outside of South Africa, Robin’s focus now is on bringing Kerry closer to the manufacturers in selected geographies by building effective Kerry teams in the main markets.
Robin believes that building the bridge between the vast know-how that Kerry has to offer and the African consumer requires proximity to the companies that serve the African consumers by native Kerry teams, the members of which truly understand local taste preferences. These regional Kerry teams will avail those Kerry technologies to the local companies that will help them to launch products that will be embraced by the African consumer.
